Just a genuinely fun game overall.Hoopoo Games' excellent roguelite third-person shooter, Risk of Rain 2, recently received a free Anniversary Update on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and that same update is finally set to arrive on Nintendo Switch tomorrow (Tuesday 17th August).Īccording to the official Risk of Rain Twitter account, the update on Switch is the exact same content-wise as on other systems and as such will see a host of tweaks, changes and additions made to the game, including the return of Bandit, a character from the first Risk of Rain who's been rejigged to fit in better with this sequel. I would suggest game on PC if you don't have a huge preference, but at the end of the day it will still be a fun game on switch. I'm sure it's something you can adjust to with more use of joysticks, but it was pretty noticeable to me. The aiming and tracking moving targets just feels better on PC, and things become more difficult on switch. I will say, after playing both, the game ~feels~ better on PC. While we were playing on switch I did stage 5 as normal, and rushed stage 6-7 to see if we could complete a run to unlock some characters. ![]() Per the nature of the game, it just escalates from there. Game ran okay just kinda laggy when there was too much going on at once. As we were playing it, there was some very noticeable performance lag post stage 4 or so (about 18 minutes into a run). Have 200+ hours on PC, got the game for my brother in law for christmas for the switch. ![]()
